Memory of Gaynor J. Schneider

REDWOOD - A memorial service for Gaynor J Schneider, 74, of Number Six Road, will be at 11 a.m. Friday
at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, 38422 Route 37, Theresa, with the Rev. Edgar A. Hunter Sr., retired
Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Redwood cemetery.
Mr. Schneider died Thursday at Stanley regional Medical Center, Albemarle, N.C.
He was a farmer and then worked for the Thousand Island Park Corp. on Wellesley Island, retiring in 2006.
He enjoyed flea markets and traveling and was a member of the North Country Club of the Deaf.
Born Aug. 22, 1932, in Plessis, son of Lawrence and Laurel Lambert Schneider, he graduated from the Rome
School for the Deaf in 1952.
He married Dorothy A. Waterson on Dec 24, 1955, in Watertown.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, James G. and his fiancée, Jeanne Narrow, Gregory L. and Daniel
L., all of Redwood; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan M. and Gibson Streets, Clayton, and Lesley A.
Schneider, Albemarle; a sister,
Jeannine Walts, Plessis; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Two sisters, Sylvia Schwandner and
Marilyn Gregory, died before him.
