1941 - 2009

THERESA - Joseph H. Celenzo, Sr., 68, died Thursday at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown after being
stricken at home.
Born January 29, 1941 in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of Joseph Henry and Kathleen Mary Pollard Celenzo, he was a
graduate of the Rome School For the Deaf in Rome, NY.
He married Carol D. Ferguson of Finch, Ontario, Canada. The marriage ended in divorce.
Mr. Celenzo worked at various jobs in the North Country and was employed with the United States Postal Service as
a mail handler until his retirement.
He was a  trustee with the North County Club For the Deaf and VIce President of the Northern New York Association
for the Deaf (NNYAD).
Mr. Celenzo was an avid outdoorman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.
Survivors include a companion,
Laurie Cosgrove, Theresa; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Ted Montroy of
Woodbourne; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Henry and Jennifer of Manchester, NY and Joseph, Jr of Annville, PA;
six grandchildren, Erica Monroy, Travis Montroy, Taylor Powell, Megan Platt, Danielle Celenzo, Kyle Celenzo; one
great grandchild, Olivia Caprario.
Services will be at a later date.
